BISHOP OF LONDON
SEGREGATION ORDER. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, July 29. The Daily News learns that the Bishop of London, owing to their attitude in devotions connected with the reservation of the Sacrament, has segregated the Anglo-Catholic clergymen, Rev. R. B. Abell, Vicar of St. Pe*er and St. Paul, Teddington; and Rev. J. E. Watson, Vicar of St. Albans, Fulham; whose churches were reported to the Royal Commission on Ecclesiastical Discipline (July 1906). They are among twenty-one London clergymen refusing to obey the Bishop’s directions. Segregation, which is similar to the Bishop of Birmingham’s action in similar circumstances, does not stop services, ’but the Bishop will not visit the church, and therefore Confirmation will be impossible, also diocesan grants will cease, but it is presumed that the iinglo-Catholics will provide the necessary' finance. Twenty-one clergy have strongly protested against, the, alleged partiality. (’"We (do not' see Kow in •4some churches where devotions have . been -only insignificantly changed, your directions are being observed, especially in those where ministers bow to„ the SacranVeiit, singing words, of praise.”
