FVERYBODYS PICTURES. “ THE CARDBOARD LOVER ” —TO-NIGHT. “ The Cardboard Lover ” is one of the gayest, and most sprightly comedies seen at the: .Princess Theatre for many months. This picture is clever—Marion Davies at her best^—what indeed could be better in the way ofAight comedy? Monte Carlo, with its throngs Of beautiful women, its fascinating casinos and its atmosphere of romance, serves as a background for. the comedy situations worked out by the leading comedienne of the screen. It never has served as the locale of a better picture, and other Monte Carlo pictures have been as common as flies around a sugar bowl. The romantic story opens with the arrival of a young American girl, as played by Miss Davies, at Monte Carlo with a group of .other college girls ih> Cook’s Tour party. At the world’s gambling capital she meets Nils Asther, a tennis champion, in the midst of an affair with a noted siren, played by Jetta Although Asther knows of his mistress’s unfaithfulness, he is unable to. tear himself away from her. With; Miss DdyiesAn the lead it is usually easy to forget the rest of the Crist, but'hot in-this picture. The rest of the cast, namely, Nils Asther, Jetta GoudaJ, who displays an unexpected sense, of comedy Tenen Holtz and Andre de Segurola are more than excellent. ; “ The . Cardboard Lover” is a treat, for. those whose digestion can stand two hours of steady laughter, with' a bit of pathos now and again to season the comedy. A topical and comedy will. : also be shown: to-night. On. Wednesday an immortal romance of the great battle of Jutland, “ When Fleet Meets Fleet'.” When your whiskers sprout, my boy, you are a man, So act the part and do thp best you can: Be upright, brave, and true, Vush your weight till all is blue. Don’t be among the ones who “also ran,”
And, Jimmy, just be sure, Take Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure In order every cough and cold to ban.
