FOUR TRIALS FOR MURDER. NEW YORK, May 29. Four trials in five years and ' finally an acquittal is th eexperience of Harry Hoffman, a cinema operator, who late last night was declared not guilty of murder. In the court was Mrs Anges Rankin, who had divorced Hoffman and married agian. With tears in her eyes she announced her intention to obtain another divorce and remarry Hoffman. “I want to go back to Harry,” she said, “and we can begin all . o\\t again.” Hoffman owes his acquittal largely to his lawyer, Samuel Liebowitz. In 1924 a woman was found murdered on Staten Island, and at first trial Hoffman was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment. A higher court set aside the verdict and a second trial fell through. The jury disagreed in the third trial, Tuit last night, at the close of the fourth trial, the foreman oi the jury cried, “We find defendant not guilty.”
