STATE ACTOR’S REVOLT. VIENNA, June 12. All the actors and actresses of the Vienna State Burgtheater are in revolt against the new regulations issued by Herr Schneiderhan, the Director of-the State Opera, Burgtheater, and other subsidised State theatres, for the better discipline of the theatre and its stafF. lie is responsible to the Minister of Education, Dr. Czermak, only, so deputations of actors and actresses are preparing to wait upon the Minister when he returns to Vienna from the country. They demand the resignation of Herr Schneiderhan, and refuse to obey his orders. - In the order of their importance to the actors and actress the new regulations forbid the sale by members of the staff of free tickets allotted to them f themselves and their relatives, all marked “unsalable” (which are to many a considerable source of income); “gagging” in all its forms, and impose fines ‘for refusing to take any part whatever at the shortest notice; arriving late for rehearsals or performances! and various minor delinquencies. In heated speeches veteran actors have been • denouncing these “tyrannical and demeaning orders.”
