IN FIFTY YEARS

A ONE-DAY’S ELY. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). , (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 22. Sir Elliott Roe opines that within fifty years it will be possible to fly to Australia in twenty-four hours. “It is only the beginning of aviation achievement. Within fifty years a flight from England to Australia under twenty-four hours will be commonplace. Machines will travel like rockets at 400 miles hourly. They are. already designing machines which reaclr a maximum power ot twenty-five thousand feet. In future passengers will travel in hermetically sealed cabins, thus maintaining a normal-air pressure of nine pounds to the loot. Air travel would supersede other forms because it will be the most comfortable and safest, using multiple-engined amphibians.
