GORED BY BULL
A FARMER'S DEATH. AUCKLAND, July 18. A verdict that death was due to the collapse ol both lungs following injuries received through being gored by a bull was returned at the inquest concerning the death of .). t\ Dimmer, a fanner, at Helen,sville on the afternoon of July 10th. Arthur John Skelton said he saw deceased enter a paddock, ami he was immediately followed by bis bull. Deceased was tossed and gored continually by the animal. Witness endeavoured to stop the bull’s onslaught with a pitchfork. Ill’s wife summoned a man who shot the hull through the eye. Deceased, who was conscious at the time, requested that this should be done. “The hull was dangerous.” said witness. in reply to Mr Hunt. Coroner. “Ho had attacked my son previously, and I was forced to use a pitchfork on it. People generally consider their own bulls are not dangerous, and Rimmer thought his hull was merely obstinate.”
