At Kansas City, before a crowd of twelve thousand spetcators * Stribling gained the decision over George Cook the Australian, in a ten-round boxing contest. . The crowd frequently cheered the Australian for his gameness, but the fight throughout was slow and tedious to watch. Both men landed clear punches in every round, but there was much clinching and holding, which caused a lack of action. Stribling icleaijly outboxed Cook who scored in tlie fifth round only All the other rounds went to his opponent by an easy margin. In the seventh round, Cook was knocked through the ropes and he claimed that his back was injured, but went on gamely. Stribling was Mice warned for holding m clinches, the referee having great difficulty in separating the mfcn, and in the sixth and tenth rounds he wrestled Cook to the floor.
