GIPSIES ON NIAGARA. PERMISSION TO LAND IN N.Z. WITH-HELD. (By Tolegraph--Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 15. A party of gipsies who arrived by the Niagara intended to land at Auckland, but permission has been withheld pending instructions from Wellington. llie party comprises men, women and children, and most of them were in New Zealand on a previous occasion. They appear to have plenty of money. •
BUTTER FACTORY BURNT
HAAHLTON, July 13
The large butter factory of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, at Ngaruawahia, was destroyed by fire at 3 o’clock this morning. A quantity of new machinery was damaged, and the loss is estimated at between £20.000 and £30,000. Plant worth about £SOOO and a quantity of manufactured butter were saved.
The factory output for the season is over 2000 tons. : . .
