NEGRO DANCER
EXECUTION DELAYED. {United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this day at 12.25. p.m.) PARIS, July 16. La Fortune, the negro dancer who was sentenced to death for murder has succeeded in putting off her execution, by getting herself sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in the Paris Assizes for stealing six shillings. La Fortune’s lawyer brought up the trivial misdemeanour in order to obtain a delay in the death sentence. The negro has the right to appeal, hut this cannot be heard for three months, and thus it is certain that for three months 'at least, or for two years if she does not appeal, for under the French law she piust serve imprisonment before she can be executed. ■
