Coimnander Swabey and the officers of the New Zealand Squadron were entertained at dinner at Scott’s Hotel by prominent New Zealanders resident here. It was a brilliant function and was presided over by Air H. J. Manson, Nc,w Zealand Government representative. Amongst those present were the Lord Mayor, Admiral Sydenham, , Commodore Stevenson, and the .Secretary fpr Naval Defence. Mr Rich-i ard jjinton, member of the Victorian Assembly, proposed the. .toast of ‘.‘The Visitors,” and Commodore Swabey replied. Dr J. A. .Gilruth proposed; the “Royal Australian. Navy,’’, and. Commodore Stevenson responded. The Lord .Mayor paid a cpninliment to New Zealand’s representative in Australia.
