TRADE COMMISSIONER
WELLINGTON, July 10.* Telegraphic advice lias heen received in Wellington of the appointment by the British Board of Trade of Mr L. A. Paish as his Majesty’s Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, in succession to Mr Ij. B. Beale. Air 1 aisli is expected to sail for New Zealand on July 26th. The new Trade Commissioner is, states Mr Lambic (Deput\ - Trade Commissioner), a man of outstanding ability and strong pcisonality with a profound knowledge both of industrial conditions in Britain, and of Empire economics. After a successful career in the Patent Office in London, Mr Paish joined in 1914 the staff of the Department of Overseas Trade, and vapidlv distinguished himself by his keen judgement, energy and initiative. He has been for sonic some years an assistant director m charge of the trade division of the Department, and in that position has been in intimate touch with tne leading manufacturers and trade associations in Britain. He will undoubtedly prove a worthy successor to Mr Beale and' the other Trade Commissionss who have done so much good work for British trade in New Zealand. >
