ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, July : 10. Prices, remained on a par with late rates, except for a rise in pigs, at today’s live stock sale at Addington. Beef—There was „ a fair entry of beef, with some lines of good quality The market was firm. Heavy steers sold from £lB to £2l, extra neavv up to £24 7s Gd, prime £IG 10s to £lB, medium £l4 15s to £ls 15s, handy-weights £l4 to £ls ss, unfinished to £l3. Extra heavy heifers sold up to £l7 17s 6d, prime £l3 to £ls 10s, medium £lO to £l2 15s, light from £7. Heavy cows fetched £l3 to £ls 17s Gd, prime £lO to £l2 10s, mculum £8 to £9 15s, inferior from £7. There was a good entry of fat sheep, while the market was on a par with late rates. E..tra heavy wethers sold to 32s 4d, prime heavy from 34s to 37s 6d, medium 31s to 335, light and plain 27s Gd to 35s 4d, extra heavy ewes sold to 35s 4d, prime ewes 29s to 335, medium 24s to 28s, light 20s Gd to 23s 6d, inferior from 16s Gd. There was a very small yarding of fat lambs, and these chiefly were poor in quality. The market was firny at the schedule rates.
There was a very small yarding oT store sheep, chiefly nondescript lots. The market was firm for good sheep. Pigs—There was a small entry of fat pigs, and a brisk demand for both bacon and pork, with an increase on late rates. Choppers sold from £2 10s to £G, baconors £3 10s to £4, heavy bacon £4 5s to £4 15s, extra heavy to iSI ~ t ■ ,
£5. Is Gd, the average price being 6? 2 d to 7d nor lb. Light pork sold from 37s to 54s Gd, heavy to £3 Gs Gd. the average price per pound being 9d. There was also a marked improvement in the store pig market,
