SUBMARINE DISASTER
H. 47 SUNK BY L. 12. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 9.' The Admiralty announce that Submarine H. 47 was sunk by Submarine L. 12. *' The position at which the disaster occurred was 52 degrees north and ( > 5 degrees west. ' There were two survivors from H. 47. - LONDON, July 9. Submarine H. 47, which was launched in 1918, was sunk in St. George’s Channel, 12 riiiles north-west of St. David’s Head; Pembrokeshire. H. 47 was attached to the 6th. Submarine Flotilla and was acting as tender to the depot ship, Vulcan. The officers, include Lieut. Commander R. S. Gardner, Lieut. R. W. Moi'r, SubLieut. R. G. Cronin. One man is missing from L. 12. H. 47 had «- crew of 22 and L. 12 a complement of 36. The survivors are Lt. Gardner and a telegraphist from H. 47. The authorities have not yet got information of the circumstances of V the disaster. ,T LONDON, July 9. The submarine was sunk in fortyfive fathoms of water, twenty miles west of Fish Guard.
