FATAL ACCIDENT
ON HAAST PASS TRAC£. r , JOHN MeBRIDE KILLED. The police were advised on Saturday afternoon that John Mcßridq, a roadman, had been killed by a : fall of rock at 4 p.m. on Thursday on Haast Raks track. Constable Moodie Left Matainui on Saturday afternoon forvthe scene of the fatality, a long ride of some 140 miles, but was advised ; when at \Vaiho that the body had been taken to Pembroke, so he returned back to Matainui.
