... ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, July 6. , ' • The German cruiser Emden arrived at 8 o’clock and was given a gun salute from Point Jerningham. It berthed at Clyde Quay. Penseler (German Consul for New 'Zealand) went aboard, also Lieut.-Commander C! X. j!tL Lyons, of the Naval Departihent. About two hundred people turned up in the vicinity of the wharf to fitness the arrival. /Luring the morning a series of formal calls was made by Commander . Arnauld to the Governor-General, Har'bpur Board and Navy Department,' these being, returned later in the day; : 'Commander Amauld was accompanied by Mr Penseler. ,The weather is fine assuring a good time for the men who came ashore.
