OBITUARY.
ALEXANDER AAULSON,

DUNEDIN, July 4:
Advices from Home record the death at Inverness at the age of eighty years of Mr Alexander Wilson, formerly rector of the Otago Girl’s High School and of the Boy’s High School. A Master of Arts of Aberdeen University' and a most brilliant scholar and writer Air AA’ilsoh came to Dunedin in 1874 and joined the Boys’ HighSchool staff the same year. He was appointed rector of the Girls’ High School in 1885 ancl of the Boys’ High School in 1896, holding the latter posi till 1996. He assumed the editorship of the “New Zealand Times” (AA’ellixngton): for a year, then.:retiring and returning Home to liye at Bath a fid later at Inverness. He was president of the Otago Institute, the Otago Educational Institute and tin Dunedin Shakespeare Club, and Jus addresses in 'the last-named capacivwere a feature of the club’s readings.
