A Kurry message states following a shooting tragedy, five miles from the township of Mulbring, Harold Beattie ( trudged wearily back to civilization with the body of his dead mate, J. O’Donnel slung across his shoulder. The men were shooting rabbits, when the gun exploded and the right side of O’Donnell’s face was blown away, and he died three-quarters of an hour later. Beattie carried the body back toMulbring.
