SPANISH WELCOME
TO RESCUERS AND RESCUED

A tremendous crowd assembled at the station where General Ponte, the King’s aide do camp, Infante Allphonse, Cabinetcers, and many .public delegations waited on the platform. The train came in amid the playing of the Anglo-Spanish National Anthems and .great cheering. The streets were hung with Anglo-Spanish flags. A crowd gathered at the hotel cheering and crying “ Long Live England,” British navy and airmen, until the rescuers and the rescued Franco appeared on the balcony when, they were, uproariously acclaimed. The aviators went to a complimentary luncheon at the Aero Club. The “ Eagle ” rescuers begged to be excused as they must prepare for the Queen’s audience; ‘
