When working on J. R. McKenzie’s building in Cuba Street, a labourer, W. M. Hogg, caught his right hand in a pulley and had all his fingers and thumb torn off. The injured man was conveyed to the hospital.
LICENSEE FINED,
TIMARU, July 4
John Solway, the licensee, of the Shamrock Hotel, Timaru, was convicted and fined £2O, with costs, at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, on •i charge of having sold liqour on Sunday, June 30th, when his premises were required to >bo closed.
