(Received this day at 11 a.m.) ’ LONDON, July 3. • At Wimbledon tennis in the men’s semi-finals, Borotra beat Austin 6-1, 10-8, 5-7, 6-1. ' Men’s doubles, quarter-final, Lott and Hennessey beat Olaff and Kingsley 6-3, 11-9, 5-7,' 6-2.
Mixed doubles, quarter-final, Gregory and Miss Ryan beat Allison and Miss Helen Jacobs 6-0, 9-7. Second Round.—Cochet and Miss Bennett beat Tilden and Mrs Mallory 7-5, 6-3. LONDON, July 4.
To-day’s tennis results at Wimbledon assure an all-French final and the retention of the championship for the sixth vear in succession'.
Austin was ineffective against Borotra. Cochet owed his victory not only to magnificent tennis, returning apparently untakable shots, but to Tilden’s mistaken striitegv in expanding energy in fierce services.
