ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, July 3. At the Addington live stock sale to-day, prices generally were up to last week’s level. Fat Cattle.—There was a medium entry of beef, with little extra heavy prime stuff. The market was firm. Extra heavy steers sold up to £23 12s 6d, heavy £lB to £2l, medium £l6 to £lB, prime handy weights £l4 to £ls 10s, light £l2 to to £l3 10s. Best heifers sold from £l3 to £ls 10s, medium £lO to £l2 15s, light £7 to £9 10s. Best cows sold from £l2 10s to £ls 10s, medium £9 to £l2, light from £7 10s to £8 "10s; inferior from £4 10s. Fat Sheep.—There were 2500 yarded Competition was keen. Prices were well up to last week. Extra prime wethers sold up to 40s lOd; prime 33s to 375, medium 30s to 335, light and plain 2:6s to 295. Extra prime ewes sold tip to 37s 4d, prime 29s to 325, medium 23s to 275, light and interior 16s to 225.

Store Sheep and Lambs. —There was a small entry, and a fair attendance of buyers. Wether lambs advanced Is and ewe lambs Is 6d. The top price for crossbred hoggets was 325; for halfbred 275; for crossbred 255. Halfbred hogget wethers fetched 14s to 21s. The adult sheep were a small yarding, and a good attendance saw in advance of 2s 6d for wethers. Six end eight-tooth wethers fetched up to 24s Bd, halfbred wethers 29s lOd, Corriedale ewes to 30s fid.

Fat Lambs.—There was a small yarding, the total entry being eight hundred, mostly of light and unfinished sorts. Prices were on a par with last week. Extra prime lambs sold up to 35s 7d, prime 29s fid to 335, medium 27s to -28 s, inferior 21s to 255. Pigs.—There was a small yarding of pork and bacon, with a slight rise in late rates. Choppers sold from 30s to £5; light.bacon £3 5s to £3 15s; heavy £4 to £4 10s ; extra £4 15s to €5 the average price being 6Jd per pound. Light pork sold from 3?s to 47s fid,' heavy 52s fid to £3; the average price being 7jd per lb.
