“The Times’s” politcal correspondent foreshadows the early creation of twenty new Peers, in order to increase the Labour strength in the house of Lords.

(Received this day at 11 a.m.) ’ LONDON, July 2. / In moving the address-in-reply, in the House of Lords, Lord Russell said lie believed that the resumption of diplomatic relations with Russia.could be done without imperilling the proper conduct of affairs of this country. Referring to unemployment, he said he was satisfied that the Government have the assistance of all parties of both bouses. Lord de la Marr seconded. Lord Salisbury, Leader of the . Opposition, said certain subjects in the King’s Speech might have come from the late Government or any responsible British Government. Lord Parmour replying, emphasised that Labour was consistently opposed to safeguarding. It must be understood that we will not renew these motor duties. The address was adopted.
