LATE LOCALS.
The AA'estport Borough Council last week landed a dozen gas radiators, which they are selling at 40s each. These give a good ..amount of heat, and the cost is one penny per hour. The dozen landed did not remain on the premises more than 24 hours, says the “Argus,” being all snapped up, and'a further supply has' been sent for. are getting wise to the' brick chimney danger, although it required an earthquake to make them so.
The death took place at Westland Hospital just after midday to-day of Mrs Linnemann, wife of the late Mr O. J. E. Linnemann, after a long illness. • Deceased was a native of Germany and 1 75 years of age. She had been a resident’ of Hokitika with her husband from the late ’sixties, and was generally esteemed. , Of late years she had suffered considerably from a severe illness. Her husband predeceased her some five years ago. She leaves a family of two daughters (Mrs Geo. Davidson, of Bealey Street, and Mrs J! Kay, of Grey mouth) and two sons (Arthur, in Honolulu, and Rupert, in Melbourne). Many friends will extend their sincere sympathy with tlm relatives in their loss. :
