SHOCK FOR MOTHER
THE BABY BOY WAS A GIRL. PARIS, May 16. The dilemma of a mother, Mine. Pelhat, who on leaving the maternity ward of St. Louis Hospital in Paris was given a baby girl when she had been told that her child was a boy is occupying official attention. Her child was horn a fortnight ago and her husband registered it in the name of Maurice Augustine Pelhat. Shortly after her return home from 1 lie hospital she was found in a faint near the child’s cradle. She lmd been overcome by the fear that she had been given the wrong baby. The St. Louis Hospital authorities have no doubt that the child is Mmc. Pclhat’s. The,mistake of describing it as a hoy is attributed to momentary confusion. A numbered bracelet was placed on the child at birth, and this, it is held, definitely establishes the identity.
