TUESDAY, JULY 2nd., 1929

NOTICES OF MOTION. 1. The Chairman to move:—“That the accounts for the month of June, 1929, as revised and recommended for paymenty by the Finance Committee, amounting to £ , be passed for payment.” 2. The Chairman to move:—“That tho Council make and levy pursuant to the provisions of Sections 48-55 of the Rating "Act, 1908, and its amendments, and sections 120-121 of the Counties’ _ Act 1920, a Genera Rate as follows: (aJ— Six farthings in the £on tho 0 capital value of all rateable property in the Northern Riding o'f the County of Westland. (b) —Six farthings in the £on the capital value of all rateable property in the Central Riding of the County of Westland. (c) —Six farthings in the £on the ■capital value of all rateable property in the Southern Riding of the County of Westland. Such general rate to be for the period commenced on the Ist day of April, 1929,’ and ending on the 31st day of March, 1929, and to become due and payable in one sum on the 23rd day of July, 1929, at the office olf the West-

land County Council, Hokitika.” 3. Hie Chairman to move:—“That the Council make and levy pursuant t r the provisions of sections 'lB-55 of the Rating Act, 1903, and its amendments, and the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, special rates as follow: (a) —A special rate of one penny and five-fourteenths of a penny in the £ (annually recurring) for the special Inter-Wanganui Rating District affecting the loan of £750 'for Petersen’s ‘• Road Extension. ( U )_A special rate of one penny and -seventeen-twenty-firsts of a penny in the £ (annually recurring) for the spe'ciat Inter-Wanganui Rating District, affecting the loan of £750 for Petersen’s Road Further Extension. (c) — A special rate of six-seventeen-ths of a penny in the £ (annually recurring) for the special Inter-Wanganui Rating District affecting the loan of £lO5 for La Fontaine creek clearing. (n) —A special rate of six-thirty-seconds df a penny in the £ (annually recurring) for the special Southern' Rating District affecting the loan of £1,500 for. Kakapotahi bridge erection. Such special rates to he for the period commenced on the Ist day of April, 1929, and ending on the 31st' day of March, 1930, and to become due and payable, in one sum, on the 23rd Jul\. 1929,. at the office of the JVostIhnd County Counci, Hokitika.” 4. The Chairman to move:—“Thatpuri spoilt 'to the provisions of the Rating r ; Act and its amendments ,a rebate of ,A/ ‘ five per cent he allowed on the foregoing rates paid by 22nd August, 1929 but not later, - and public notice ho given accordingly.” a. Cr. Donovan to move “ That the Chairman he authorised to arrange a temporary ferry at Three Mile Creek (Okarito) for the convenience of mining parties for a period of six months 0. Cr. Donovan to movie :— 1 ‘ That the subsidy to libraries vote be allocated as heretofore on receipt of necessary information from the County district libraries for the financial year ended March Ist last; the total not to exceed' £25.”
