FIRST APPRENTICE FROM NEW ZEALAND.

The first New Zealand apprentice to the Royal Air Forcee in England has just been appointed and accepted. He is F. A. Cramp, age 16, son of Mr E. R. Cramp, of Birkdalo Road, Birkdalo, Auckland. He qualified for his apprenticeship under the conditions recently published in the “Dominion,” and has been accepted by the Air Council at Home. He will leave New Zealand to enter upon his apprenticeship at an R.A.F,. training establishment shortly. Passages and expenses to England have to be paid by the apprentices. Mr A. M. Acton-Adams, 19, son of the late Col. P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.S., V.D., of Kaikoura, has been accepted for a Royal Air Force cadetship at the R.A.F. College, Cranwel 1, on the nomination of His Excellency tho Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and will he leaving New Zealand shortly to enter on the term commencing in September. The late Colonel P. M. Acton-Adams was weU known throughout the Dominion, and saw considerable service during the war.
