EMDEN’S DONATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association Y. AUCKLAND, June 27. The commander, officers and crew of the German cruiser Emden have donated a total of £25 to the Mayor’s earthquake fund. RESTORING TELEGRAPH LINES. NELSON, June 27. The Chief Telegraph Enginfii-e, A. Gibbs, and J. McDermott, District Telegraph Engineer, of Wellington, are at present in Nelson in connection with arrangements for restoring shattered services in Murchison and the surrounding districts. Every effort will be made to link up the district again. Telephonic communication is being completed to-day with Murchison from Reefton via Springs Junction and Harnia. It is understood the lines are very badly damaged from Glenhope to Inangahua Junction. _ j >•
