ARRIVES AT DERBY

SYDNEY, June 26

A wireless ess age from the Southern Cross slates the machine is progressing steadily after cold night Hying. at an altitude of 400 feet, in order to get warmth from the ground. The Southern Cross expected to arrive at Derby between noon and one o’clock.

SYDNEY, June 26. The Southern Cross has landed at Derby. She arrived there at 10.30 o’clock this morning. West Australian time.

22 HOURS IN THE AIR

SYDNEY, June 20

The Southern Cross crew have sent a message to Sydney saying that all of them were very tired after their 22 hours spent in the air, but that, they had had the host trip of their lives.

They will remain at Derby for a couple of days to ascertain the weather conditions, before hopping off for Singapore. They must time their departure so as not to arrive at the Rangoon racecourse on Saturday, where a race meeting is being held that day. The air liner “Canberra,” with the Minister for the Home Territories aboard, and also other passengers, re turned to Sydney to-dav, after a wonderful trip tlirough Northern and Central Australia.

The party left Adelaide early to-day and reached Sydney before dusk.
