TIED TWICE

COUNTY ELECTION. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] THAMES, June 26. There has been a peculiar result m one of the Thames County riding elections, which closed to-day in the declaration by the Returning Officer that Mr Corry Wright has been elecred for Tnirua Riding. An election was held early in May, and resulted in l Messrs Wright and Prescott, two of the candidates, • being equal. There werer two declaration votes, which went one to each, but there being some doubt as to the validity oi these, Mr Wright resigned, another poll being taken on June 20th, which showed: Wright 27, Prescott 27, making another tie. To-dav, in the presence of the County Chairman and of representatives of both candidates, the Returning Officer placed the names in a hat, and drew Mr Corry Wright’s name, declaring him elected.
