TIMBER STRIKE
t NO HOPE OF SYDNEY SETTLEMENT. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 2(5. Hopes for a. settlement of the timber strike in Sydney on lines of the agreement in Melbourne have been shattered by the leaders of tbe strikers issuing a statement declaring the strike will be continued for six or even twelve months, until the men have secured a iforty-four hours week and conditions under the Webb award. Preparations, it is stated, are being made to intensify tbe struggle.
