Austin (England) beat Hunter (America); Bruguoii (France) beat Vanryn (America). Olliers who survive the second round were Tiiden, Boussus, Morpurgo, Raymond, Gregory, Coen, Kingsley and Hennessey. V, Tn the ladies singles, Helen Wills, Betty Nuttall, Joan Fry, Miss Ryan and Miss Alvarez entered the second round. Misses Heine, Tapscott, Mrs .Mallory, and Miss Aussom entered the third round. At Wimbledon in the second round Coehet beat Bower '(England). LONDON, June 25. Andrews played good tennis in the first set but after that he was clearly outplayed by Landry,, whose beautifully volley did not give the New Zealander a chance to move from the back 1 iIK*. A strained wrist and leg handicapped Andrews.
