SIR JAMES PARR
TERM AS HIGH COMMISSIONER. EXTENDED FOR TWO MONTHS. WELLINGTON, Juno .22. The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) announced to-day that the term of the present High Commissioner for New Zealand in London. Sir James Parr, has been extended until the end of September next. Sir James Parr was appointed tb the office hv the Reform Administration in February. 1926, and commenced his duties in London on August Ist in that year. The High Commissioners’ Act provides that the High Commissioner shall hold office for such period not exceeding three years as is specified in the warrant of his appointment and shall be eligible for reappointment. The term oT Sir James Parr’s appointment therefore was due to expire according to statute on July 31st, 1929, and his period has been extended by two months.
