Tlie champion sculler, Barry, despite rough water defeated three leading Tideway scullers, S. Ferrin, R. Cowse, and H. Watford, each rowing a third off the distance over the University course from Putney to Mortlake in 1463 seconds. Barry covered the whole distance, winning every section.
