FVERYBODYS PICTURES. AL WILSON IN “THE CLOUD DODGER. ” —TO-NIGHT. Al Wilson, the youthful aviator who literally “ flew ” to the top as a trick rind stunt flyer before the camera, wrote his own version of an airplane picture -and-in The Cloud Dodger,” the Universal Western aerial melodrama, you may see the death-defying escapades that prompted the actor writer to pen the story. Al’s early education was directed towards a business after a few hectic M months behind a desk he discovered his mistake and; being mechanically inclined acquired a position in a machine shop. His skill and efficiency around motors soon, landed him a job in an aviation school where he studied the rudiments of flying. It was but a short time' until he had acquired sufficient knowledge of ’planes to pass an aviator’s examination and he was granted a,.license to open a flying 'school in Los Angeles. He conducted his instruction and academy ifor six years when the war broke out, and 1m was stationed by the government oi the United States at Kelly Field. ’ Texas as an aviation instructor foi army recruits. Al has flown across the continent twice and also lias the distinction of being the first aviator to make a commercial flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco, made under the auspices of aviation officials in both cities in 1919. He has transferred •from one plane to another in mid-air and from motor-cycles, automobiles, and horses from the ground. Al is supported by a well chosen cast in “ The Cloud Dodger ” which . includes among others, Gloria Grey, Joe O’Brien, Julia Griffith, and Gilbert' Holmes. Bruce Mitchell, the master of airplane technique, directed the picture.' A topical, scenic, and comedy will also be shown.
