Hushhush No. 2 named Louis Coatalen, is giving a nevV car car which is being secretly built, to defend Segrave’s land speed record against American 1930 attempts. It is stated the maximum speed will greatly exceed the Golden Arrow’s. He refuses other particulars on the ground that the publication of the Golden Arrow’s details have already greatly assisted Americans.

COAL SHIPMENTS. LONDON, June 20.
The “Herald” understands the latest Australian shipments of Northumberland steam coal aggregating 22,000 tons, are destined for private companies. Colliers hope to gain a permanent looting in the Australian market. Welsh collieries report they have received several' inquiries direct from Australia asking to state the descriptions and quantities available, and periods over which they are prepared to supply. Similar New Zealand inquiries were resultlcss owing to piohibitivo freights. MERCEDES GLEITZE’S SWIM. LONDON, June 20. Mercedes Gleitze’s third attempted long-distance swim was from Boston to Snettisham, covering 30 miles. She was exhausted, hours in a battle with the currents, and crawled up on the beach where she quickly recovered.
