PICKETING SUSPENDED
ALLEGATIONS AGAINST POLICE. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 21. A combined meeting of the Unions it Kurri Karri decided to suspend picketing at Richmond Main Colliery. A picket at Athcbhurn made allega--ions against a police servant. Memk*rs of the picket alleged an officer, .vliile apparently under the influence of drink, struck a picket with a stick, waved his revolver and threatened to .hoot the picket if lie retaliated. Inspector Stein, who is in charge on bhe coal fields stated, owing to long .catches and work to which the police ire not accustomed', one man apparently suffered from a nervous hireakknvn. An undisguised policy of intimation igainst the police and the law courts, in connection with the timber strike is indicated in the reports of the Disoutes’ Committee to the Labour Coun-
C. Reeves, a prominent Communist, said: Virile action, to deal with the nolice who were acting as escorts to the volunteers, was being decided on in a secret conference.
Another delegate stated the attitude towards Judge Curlewis for his handling of the prosecutions of a man for assault on a volunteer, vyas aslo being divined.
