The custom of the committee of tiic \y airio Jockey Club of holding meeting in the Wairio Hotel, led to the appearance of members who were present at a meeting on May 11th. in the Magistrate’s Court at Otautau yesterday. charged with being on licensed premises after hours.

In dismissing the inlorinatio.il, the Magistrate held that they were there for a legitimate purpose, hut he th ught they would be wise in future if they obtained the permission of the Licensing Conunitee to hold meetings in the hotel,
