NURSE’S DISMISSIAL. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FAILS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Junee 18. A nurse’s dismissal from the service of Lady Edwards was the subject of a written judgment by Mr Pago, S.M. Ethel Sophia Nicholas claimed £147 14s damages for alleged wrongful dismissal and £1 4s balance of wages said to be due. Plaintiff accompanied Lady Edwards from England and continued in her employ here, during which time, at her own instigation, Mr Page held, the terms of her employment were altered with an increase 1 of wages to £2 2s, eitluf: side to give a week’s notice of the termination of the engagement, and with the understanding that as plaintiff’s husband was coming to settle in New Zealand there should be no demand for a return passage to England.
