The Senate by one vote defeated a resolution offered by Mr Borah under which tariff revision by Congress would be,, confined to agricultural items. MEXICAN TROUBLE. ' MEXICO CITY, June 18. The basis for a settlement of the Mexican Religious controversy has been agreed upon, and it has cabled to the Pope at Rome for bis approval. It was learned authoritatively, on Tuesday night, that the basis of a settlement lias received the final approval of President Gil and of the Roman Catholic emissaries, Archbishop Flores and Bishop Diaz. No changes in the existing law are involved, but only changes in. the interpretation.
