SHOT IN LEG
MAN’S LONG JOURNEY TO . HOSPITAL. AUCKLAND, June 17. Wounded in the right leg by an accidental shot from a companion’s gun, Henry Rustom, of Parnell road, was Drought in from Muriwai by stretcher and ambulance last evening, the entire journey taking over five hours. Rustom and three friends went out yesterday morning for a day’s pheasant shooting in lonely country between Waimauka and the beach. As they were walking over a patch of broken ground early in the afternoon, one of the party tripped and his gun went off, sending the charge into Ruston’s leg just above the knee, and causing a serious wound. He was carried on an improvised stretcher over rough country to where the ambulance was waiting. His condition is satisfactory
