FIltE AT WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Tune 10. About eight o’clock last night, fire broke out in Schneideman’s men’s clothing shop in AVillis Street. The brigade was promptly on the scene, and soon had the flames extinguished. Considerable damage to stock and [fittings was none by fire, smoke and water. The main structure was not greatly damaged. A case of s >me form of poisoning occurred on Sunday night when a working man named Cox, with his wife and two children, residing in a fiat off the Parade at Island Bay, were suddenly taken ill with sickness and vomiting. Doctor Slater was called in and believing them to be suffering from poisoning they were removed to the hospital. After receiving treatment they were sufficiently recovered to lie discharged yesterday.

INQUEST VERDICT. STRATFORD, June 18. At the inquest on Arthur Samuel Slater, found hanging in'a cowshed, a verdict was returned of suicide while in a state o'f depression.
