STRUCK BY A FALL OF COAL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, June 17. An .inquest touching the death of John Howd, who met his death in Linton mine, on Thursday morning, was held at Ohai on Saturday morning, before the Acting-Coroner and a jury of four. A verdict 'was returned that deceased was hilled in the Linton mine, through being struck by a fall of coal, no blame being attachable to any of the officers of the mine. BURNED TO DEATH.
