James Cable, aged 24 years, was convicted of a brutal assault on Constable Brownette, who was acting as. an escort ifor a timber lorry. Cable was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment. -MORE ASSAULT CHARGES. SYDNEY, June 14. All Profit, by Monte Christo imp.-All Glee, and won the cup. The Waterloo Plate was won by Mr Kenoh’s Ivillawarra. All the shipping between Bowen and McKay lias been disorganised by a cyclone whiciv appeared off Queensland and which is now moving southward. STATE FARMS. TO BE SOLD IN QUEENSLAND. June 14. Tlie Queensland Government has decided to sell by auction in September all of the State cattle stations, on which there are herds numbering between one hundred and thirty and one hundred and forty thousand cattle now grazing.
