The French plane “Yellow Bird,” in a flight to Paris from Old Orchard, passed over the American steamer “Wy.theville” on Thursday evening 850 miles out.

It was the most notable gathering. including almost every aviator of distinction.

Air Minister Thompson, toasting the anniversary said he took it on himself to pick out of ten years the six best flights, in which he included first. Brown’s and Ajcock’s. of which too little had been made, then Ross Smith’s, Cobhani's and Hinkler’s to Australia. The best ovation of the' day greeted Hinkler’s name. Thomson said he had Hinkler’s authority that the cost was less than a- second class steamer fare. Thomson praised the Australian developments and pleaded for everyone’s cooperation to make the next ten years of British aviation more noteworthy.
