NOBLE’S BOOK
BITING CRITICISM. Ol<’ BOARD OF CONTROL. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 9.25 a.in.) LONDON, June 13. Biting criticism of the Board of Control is the outstanding 'feature of -Noble’s book “ The Fight for the Ashes,” published by Ha mips. “ Unless the powers that be show more imagination than in recent years, ■ I do not «ee a prospect of escaping from the path whereinto we have drifted, through sheer pighcadedness. Wo neglected opportunities to encourage our youth, with the result that wo never were so weak in all departments oil' the game. We muddled through badly and have been up against a stonewall in a Board barren of perpicacity and as incapable of fostering the interests of the game. Men of experience were never consulted. They might he pirates, burglars, or bushrangers ifor all the authorities care.” He is of opinion that the last eleven, in addition to colts, including a couple of spin bowlers, if discoverable, would make A good fight in 1930.
