NOVEL BOXING TOURNAMENT

Czechoslovakia lias a novel method of conducting boxing matches. During a tournament at Znaim the Czech champion Jirsa suddenly sprang into the ring and challenged Fritensky, the Austrian champion, who was present as a spectator. Fritensky accepted on condition it was a fight to the finish, without intervals between the rounds, whereupon the champions stripped. Jirsa. however, was weakening at the end df nineteen minutes and suddenly picked up the seconds stool and felled Fritensky. The Austrian’s seconds 1 jumped into the ring and a free fight'began. Soon l.ie whole audience became involved and when the police arrived a score were wounded. Fritensky was taken to the hospital with a broken head.
