N.S.W. TRAMS
NO INTENTION TO SCRAP THEM;(Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) • SYDNEY, June 12. * The Government has no intention of scrapping its trams, declared the Min-. ister for Local Government (Mr Brux- . ner). On the contrary, it intends to ensure complete co-ordination between trams and buses through the new Transport Board. Mr Bruxner pointed out that he had received information from Britain showing the trams' there were not being scrapped. The tendency was rather to> extend them.' It was a wild statement to say London was scrapping its tramway system, while in America, y as in Britain, „ it was found neither trams nor, buses could adequately cop©'with the v ing traffic. Precisely the same condi-J tions applied to Sydney.
