KVERYBODYB PICTUREB. “HEART OF A NATION” -TO-NIGHT. Many of the cast of Universal’s drama “ Heart of a Nation,” Which will be the shown at the Princess Theatte to-night are naturalised Americans, linvijtg gone there from their native lands. This is apropos, since “Heart of a Nation” is a tense drama of the pathos and tragedy often involved in the Americanization of mature immigrants. George: Lewis was | bom in Mexico, Albert Gran in Norway, Beryl Mercer and Flora Bramley in England, Michael Visaroff in Russia and Rosita Marstini in Belgium. The American-born members of the cnst are George Sidney, Patsy Ruth Miller, John Boles, Eddie Philips, Katldyn Williams, Edward Martindel, Josephine JDunri, Daisy Belmore and Andy Do Vine. The director, Edward Sloman, was born in London,. England. Everyone of these immigrants has taken' out naturalisation papers. Some have only their first papers hut the rest of them are fully endowed with their citizenship rights arid are able to cast their votes for President and ; other public offices. Many of the colourful scenes in “ Heart of a Nation ” were filmed in New York, while ninny. others were registered at Universal City where a complete Lower East Side • street was constructed for use in the picture. Here are the hatcher* shop of Schmidt arid the fruit store of Albertirii where the drama is enacted. The story deals with .the modern generation of America’s foreign bom who have become real Americans to the amazement of their elders, who belatedly try to overtake their children. Director Edward Stem an went on location to New York for the filming of scenes in the proper atmosphere. The usual supports will also bo shown. On Friday, next Tim McCoy in “Riders of the Dark.”
