MONDAY, JUNE 10th. The Board met at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs J. .J. Breeze (Chairman), G. uavklson, E. A. Wel.s, R. Meliurry, \V. Evenden, M. Keenan and T. IV. Duif. Apologies for absence were made lor .Messrs Jeffries, Ebook and Turner. The minutes were confirmed and outward corespondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From lion. Stallworthy, notilying visit to Westland Hospital on June I.7th. at 2.15 p.m.—Received. From Hospitals Department, granting advance on subsidy.—Received. From same, acknowledging statistical return; approving of estimates for the year and notifying subsidy of • 25s 2d per £.—Received. From same affecting various formal matters.—Received. From Grey Hospital .Board, addressing conference for renewal of I imber Workers’ Union agreement for treatment of patients.—Received. From F. Turley, Timber Workers’ Union, suggesting conference be held early in July.—Received and suggestion accepted for meeting. From' Kuniara Albert Lodge forwarding list of members. —Received. From Hibernian Lodge, forwarding list of members.—Received. From Town Clerk, Kuniara, lonvarding levy.—Received. From various in connection with accounts for mainicnanec.—Received and dealt with. From Freda Scott, resigning position as pantry maid.—Received and accepted. , REPORTS. 'From Surgeon Superintendent reporting patients in hospital on April .TOtli. numbered 3G. Admitted during •May, 35 males, 22 females. Total treated 58 males 35 females—93. Discharged cured, 29 males, 19 females; lied 1 male. Total discharged 30 males, 19 females. Remaining in hospital on 31st. May, 28 males 1G females—44. In hospital for over two nonths, 8 males, 1 female—9.—Received.

The Matron recommended the ac•eptance of tenders by McKay and Son for mattresses and sheeting and ol -Schroder and Co. for sheeting.—Agreed to.

From House - Committee per Mr Davidson. Chairman, reporting conditions ,satisfactory; also of visit to Maternity Home, stating some requirements were needed including a •sepjtic tank.—Received and left to town members jto confer with the Health Inspector and arrange for the work.

The Treasurer reported receipts £1305 17s 9d, payments £BO3 14s lOd, credit balance £9G 7s 2d.—Received.

Accounts amounting to ӣ360 ll.s 7d were passed for payment.

On the recommendation of Mr Evenden. some repairs carried out were approved and a. report of further repairs •it the doctor’s residence were authorised.

The next meeting was fixed for July loth. The Board rose at 9.10 p.m.
