SOME DAIRY REGULATIONS
CLEANLINESS OF PLANT. DUNEDIN, June 8. A conference of the South Island Dairy Association adopted a proposal that the. Agricultural Department bo urged to* insist on the more strict observance of the dairy regulations, particularly those relating to the cooling of milk and the cleanliness of cow byres. Jtf was staled that had milk supplied w’iis -the cause of the “openness”' of cheese, and that the regulations had 'been ,a dead 'letter. One delegate expressed the opinion that if the regulations were strictly enforced it, would cost many farmers £l5O to '’reconstruct their plant, and that many . would'be driven ' from the industry.
